The protection of utility models covers any new form, configuration, tools, instrument or mechanism that allows a different use, or better use of an existing product. It may also be new creations susceptible of industrial application, but not having a sufficient degree of inventiveness to be protected with a patent.

Protection in this area is 10 years.
