Registration and Protection of Patents in Ecuador

Any new invention must be protected with a patent. However, certain conditions must be filled in order to make this type of record.

Novelty: The novelty of the invention can be characterized when its contents was not previously available to the public;
Inventive step: The solution provided by the invention should not be obvious;
Industrial application: It must be possible to produce industrially the solution.

The duration of patent protection is 20 years.
